Gloucester – the Second Best Place to Work in the UK!

by | Nov 12, 2018

It may come as no surprise to many of you that Gloucester has been voted the second best place to work in the whole of the UK according to a survey carried out by Glassdoor Economic Research.

Glassdoor’s Best UK Towns & Cities to Work In report questioned employees across the country regarding a number of factors including job prospects, salaries, job satisfaction and property prices.

Gloucester came significantly higher than any other town or city in the South West, including Bristol. In fact, Gloucester scored just 0.1 less overall than the national winner, the town of Slough in Berkshire.

Cambridge was ranked third, Reading fourth and Guilford came in fifth place.

The report found that at the time of the survey Gloucester had 14,626 jobs available, scored 3.5 out of 5 for job satisfaction, had an average annual base salary of £24,000 and average house price of £239,000.

Add to all this the city’s unique history, magnificent cathedral and splendid Quays shopping, entertainment and leisure facilities, not to mention the chance to catch the glorious Cherry & Whites in action, and you really do wonder why people choose to live anywhere else.
