Can you remember what you were doing in 1994?
In the UK, it was the year that Tony Blair was elected Labour leader, the Channel Tunnel opened and the first National Lottery draw took place.
World events saw Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa, the US invade Haiti and a nation watched O J Simpson fleeing police in a dramatic live car chase.
Brazil won the World Cup in America, Pulp, Oasis and Blur were all riding high in the pop charts but we lost Kurt Cobain.
It was also the year that a sixteen year old Jenny Massey came to work for Farr & Farr. I am very pleased to say that Jenny is still with us to this day!
For eleven years Jenny worked full time dealing with the daily administration of the Gloucester office. She then left to raise two children but continued to work for us on Saturday’s each week.
In September 2013, Jenny returned to full time employment with our sales team at our Longlevens branch and works there today.
Over the intervening twenty-three years, Jenny has seen our business grow from an initial two offices to five. Throughout that time we have constantly been impressed by her friendly, reliable and enthusiastic attitude, as well as her great knowledge of all aspects of sales and marketing.
We couldn’t let our longest serving member’s anniversary go without a celebration. It may not be a long service medal but Jenny certainly seemed to appreciate the bottle of Prosecco and celebratory cake from Sarah and myself!
Dare I say here’s to the next twenty-three years Jenny?
