World Land Trust: Planting Trees for Every Property Sale Completed and Letting Agreed

by | Jun 8, 2021

We have some really exciting news to share! As part of our journey to become greener and more environmentally conscious as a business, we have decided to team up with World Land Trust to begin planting trees!

We have made a promise that for every property sold and completed and for every letting agreed, we will plant a tree!

By doing so, we are actively helping towards a greener environment and healthier world for us to all enjoy.

Who are World Land Trust?

World Land Trust is an international conservation charity that is working to protect the world’s threatened habitats. They work hard to provide permanent protection for habitats and wildlife by planting trees and creating reserves.

Their mission is to sustainably manage and provide protection to natural ecosystems. They also want to work with local communities and organisations to create support and commitment including those who live within project areas.

Awareness is incredibly important for the charity. That is why they also reach out to the UK and elsewhere to improve understanding and to generate support for the projects.

World Land Trust is supported by some incredible celebrity figures and nature enthusiasts such as; Sir David Attenborough, Steve Backshall, Bill Oddie and Chris Packham. They shared their thoughts on why they believe in World Land Trust’s mission.

How does it work?

When a property is sold through us and it is completed, we will donate to World Land Trust for the tree to be planted. The same will happen for every let agreed through us!

This all helps towards global reforestation efforts, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate changes.

The expert team at World Land Trust finds the best sites which are rich with biodiversity to plant each tree, ensuring that their long-term conservation goals are met.

The tree will be planted as a seed at a nursery and when it becomes a sapling, it will be transported to its selected site. It will then be nurtured and will grow into a brilliant tree – all thanks to you!

All of this goes towards restoring the ecosystem.

Have efforts so far been successful?

World Land Trust has found that the best way to ensure successful planting projects, is to provide monitoring and maintenance throughout each stage in the process.

It is more than just planting a seed and leaving it to grow.

That is why World Land Trust is encouraging locals to actively join in and help with the restoration projects. They also reach further out for funding support to keep the projects running.

The projects are time-consuming and can be labour intensive but, are worth it all for a greener future.

Every tree that is planted has comprehensive maintenance and monitoring to ensure that as it begins its journey as a sapling, it continues to grow for at least 10 years. By this stage, the tree will be mature enough and can flourish within its space.

What more can I do to help?

There are a variety of projects that World Land Trust runs, making there lots more ways in which you can get involved.

If you take a look at their website, you will find further information on both the plant-a-tree project in which we are supporting or about other projects.

If you are looking to purchase a property through us or you are looking for a property to rent that you have seen through us, feel free to ask us further about how you could help.

We hope you are as excited about this as we are!

It is one of our priorities to become more environmentally conscious, and acts like this all help towards the bigger picture and a brighter future.
